Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000, Sparking Surge in Spot Trading Volume on MEXC
MEXC, a cryptocurrency exchange known for its zero-fee trading, reported a surge in spot trading activity on its platform as Bitcoin (BTC) broke above $80,000. Between August 20 and 22, the average daily spot trading volume of BTC, Ethereum (ETH), SOL, and XRP increased by approximately 299% from the previous period. This sharp rise in trading activity was not limited to BTC, as ETH, SOL, and XRP saw significant increases in volume.
On August 25, when BTC topped $80,000, its spot trading volume rose by around 164%, while ETH's volume increased by 220%. SOL and XRP each experienced a 500% increase in trading volume. The trend continued on August 27, with ETH and SOL reaching nearly six-month highs.
MEXC currently offers zero-fee trading on select SOL spot trading pairs and all XRP spot trading pairs, allowing users to navigate market rotations at lower cost and with greater efficiency.
