Bitcoin Surges Past $82,000 as SEC Approves Digital Securities Trading
Bitcoin's price broke through $82,000 on Monday after a volatile week marked by setbacks for digital assets. The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively attracted around $593 million in two trading days, offsetting previous redemptions and pulling the weekly net flow back into positive territory.
The shift in sentiment came after the SEC approved the listing and trading of digital securities in the United States on Thursday. This move helped lift market sentiment and paved the way for Bitcoin to rise as high as $82,078 during Monday's Asian trading session.
According to data from Farside Investors, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a net inflow of $433 million on September 18, with Fidelity's FBTC accounting for 72% of the day's total and Blackrock's IBIT attracting $108.4 million.
