Bitcoin Surges Past $85,000 as Regulatory Environment Favors Crypto
Bitcoin has been on a tear in recent weeks, rebounding above $85,070 and nearing an eight-month high. This surge marks a significant recovery from its nearly 34% plunge earlier this year.
The cryptocurrency's strong momentum is attributed to the favorable regulatory environment created by the Trump administration. During his term, regulators who support cryptocurrencies were appointed, and directives such as allowing people to invest their retirement funds in alternative assets like cryptocurrencies were issued.
Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, believes that prices will catch up by year's end, predicting that this could turn out to be the strongest and longest-lasting bull market in the history of cryptocurrencies. However, experts also caution that making short-term forecasts is extremely challenging.
