Bitcoin Surges Past $85,000 as Strategy Resumes Buying
Strategy, a company that invests in Bitcoin, has resumed buying BTC after a two-week pause. Between September 14 and 20, it purchased 950 coins for $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 per coin.
The total holdings now stand at 846,000 BTC acquired for $63.8 billion at an average cost of $75,416. This buying spree was funded by cash rather than a new share sale, indicating that the company's strategy remains unchanged despite the recent Senate vote on the CLARITY Act.
The act's failure in a 49-50 procedural vote resulted in a 4% drop in Bitcoin's price initially, but it quickly recovered and surpassed $85,000. This rally suggests that traders are more focused on actual capital flows than policy headlines.
ETF buying has resumed, and corporate treasury demand is strong. However, regulatory risk remains as the industry lacks a single congressional framework, making future rules vulnerable to political changes.
