Bitcoin Surges Past $86,000 as Crypto Market Rallies
The cryptocurrency market saw widespread gains over the past 24 hours, with most major assets climbing in value. Bitcoin led the charge, rising 1.88% to $86,404.32. Over the past week, Bitcoin has surged 3.81%, and it has gained 8.54% over the last month.
Other top cryptocurrencies also posted gains. Ethereum increased by 1.26% to $2,726.96, while BNB climbed 1.69% to $796.88. Zcash saw a 2.29% rise, reaching $1,335.91. Monero and Bitcoin Cash also advanced, gaining 0.54% and 0.66% respectively. The only exception was Bittensor, which fell 0.71% to $302.98.
Among gold-backed cryptocurrencies, PAX Gold (PAXG) edged up 0.06% to $4,151. Data for Tether Gold was not included in the report.
Analysts attribute the market's strength to a shift in expectations regarding U.S. Federal Reserve policy. Weaker-than-expected U.S. labor market data has reduced the likelihood of an interest rate hike in October. Additionally, a weaker U.S. dollar and stabilization in the bond market have boosted investor interest in riskier assets, including cryptocurrencies.
