Bitcoin Surges Past $86k as Diplomatic Talks Boost Market Confidence
Bitcoin's price has surpassed $86,000 for the first time since late January, sparking predictions of a 'new bull market'. The cryptocurrency gained nearly 6% on Monday, reaching a high of $86,332 on Bitstamp, according to data from TradingView.
The rally is being attributed to various factors, including signals from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and US President Donald Trump that diplomatic talks to end the war between the US and Iran may resume. The fall in oil prices has also contributed to the surge, with WTI crude falling below $92 per barrel.
Analysts are optimistic about Bitcoin's long-term price strength, citing its 50% rise in just two months and the significant liquidations of short positions in cryptocurrencies over the past 24 hours, which approached $800 million.
