Bitcoin Surges Past Gold Amid Market Volatility
Bitcoin has outperformed gold in September as market volatility increases due to rising bond yields and oil prices. The largest cryptocurrency is currently trading at $84,300 U.S., having risen 7% in September and about 30% since the end of August.
Gold's price has fallen 10% in September due to a combination of rising yields and interest rates, as well as a strengthening U.S. dollar.
Bitcoin has not only outperformed gold but also the benchmark S&P 500 stock index and every other major asset group with a 40% gain in this year's third quarter.
