Bitcoin Surges to Near $78,400 on Strong ETF Inflows and Short Liquidations
Bitcoin's price has surged to near $78,400 on August 31, marking its strongest monthly performance since 2017. The cryptocurrency gained around 24% in August, driven by significant inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs and short liquidations across the crypto market.
The inflows totaled $1.92 billion, while short liquidations reached $6.55 billion, providing a supportive macro backdrop for the rally.
However, upcoming Federal Reserve rate decisions and September jobs data could impact momentum, and Bitcoin must reclaim $80,000 to maintain its bullish trend and confirm the rally's sustainability.
