Bitcoin Surpasses Tesla, Samsung in Market Capitalization
Bitcoin's market capitalization has surpassed that of two major global companies: Tesla and Samsung. According to data from CompaniesMarketCap, Bitcoin's market cap is now over $1.615 billion, putting it at 13th place among monitored assets. Tesla ranks 14th with a valuation of $1.438 billion, while Samsung follows at 15th place with $1.237 billion.
The recent price increase to $81,914 on Saturday contributed to this milestone. Market capitalization is expected to reach approximately $1.63 billion by September 20, 2026, according to CompaniesMarketCap.
Despite the Federal Reserve's rate hikes and the failure of the Clarity Act, which received only 49 votes in the Senate, Bitcoin has maintained its upward momentum. The price rebounded from its low point of $74,962 on Wednesday and reached a peak of $81,914 on Saturday before profit-taking.
The Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) recent decision to create a regulatory framework for tokenized representations of listed US stocks has also contributed to the market's growth. This 'innovation exemption' took effect immediately and helped offset the impact of the Clarity Act's failure.
