Bitcoin Targets Historic Q4 Rally as Key Breakout Level Comes into Focus
Bitcoin's price has been consolidating between $83,000 and $85,000 over the past day after reaching a weekly high of $87,000. To maintain bullish momentum for Q4 2026, Bitcoin must stay above a critical level. This means closing above the May resistance peak of $82,293.
Historically, Q4 has been the best-performing quarter for Bitcoin, with average returns ranging from 77% to 85%. The median return is 47%, and it's worth noting that out of 12 years, Bitcoin has closed in the green 8 times. This phenomenon is often referred to as 'Uptober'.
The monthly seasonal pattern typically starts with a setup formation in September, followed by rebounds of up to 29% in October, peaks in November with returns exceeding 36%, and then cools down in December with average returns of 7%. However, it's essential to acknowledge that these averages are skewed due to exceptional years like Q4 2017 (+215%) and Q4 2020 (+168%). Conversely, downturns such as those in Q4 2018 (-42%) and Q4 2025 (-23%) have had a significant impact.
