Bitcoin Teeters on Edge as $67,073 Resistance Level Looms
Bitcoin is trading at around $64,925 on the daily chart, barely moving up by 0.05% on the session.
The price is currently sitting on a critical level that could decide the next big move for BTC.
This area has been identified as the upper half of a two-month range, with levels above and below it being close enough to create uncertainty about which direction the next daily candle will take.
The chart has been stuck in a range-bound pattern since June's breakdown, when Bitcoin lost its footing at around $70,000.
Now that it's back at the top of this range, the question remains: will resistance break or will the range hold again?
The key level to watch is $67,073, which has capped both the bounce in mid-June and the rally in early August. A daily close above this level would change the structure of the chart.
If Bitcoin breaks above this resistance, it opens up a path to $74,000. This is not an arbitrary number but rather the area where the June sell-off began.
On the other hand, if BTC fails to hold above $64,000, the sequence of supports below would be triggered: $61,858, $60,000, and finally $57,884.
The momentum picture is currently neutral, with RSI sitting at 49.98 on the midline, indicating no overbought stretch to unwind or oversold spring to load.
