Bitcoin Tests Key Support Near $82,000 After Retreat From High
Bitcoin is testing a key support area near $82,000 after retreating from its September high. At 3:04 a.m. ET on September 30, the asset traded at $83,023.80, having reached an intraday high of $87,363.20 on September 21 and moved back above $83,000 during trading on September 29.
Analysts are closely watching this level, with Jeff Anderson, head of U.S. at STS Digital, identifying it as the main level to watch. 'The level to watch is $82k,' he said. 'A breakdown will probably yield a slip back into the high 70s.'
Lacie Zhang, a research analyst at Bitget Wallet, placed the key support zone between $81,500 and $83,000. 'Holding that region would keep the market structure constructive,' she said.
However, Iliya Kalchev of Nexo Dispatch identified $80,000 as a more consequential threshold. A sustained break below this level would suggest the market isn't ready to push higher for some time.'
