Bitcoin to Hit $126K in 2026: BitMEX Co-Founder Cites Global Debt Problem

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, predicts that Bitcoin could reach $126,000 by the end of 2026. According to him, this forecast is based on a growing global debt problem and rising pressure on bond markets.

Hayes believes that policymakers will eventually have no choice but to inject more money into the system, creating a strong setup for Bitcoin. He points out that the current U.S. debt burden of around $40 trillion is a significant issue facing markets, with rising interest costs putting pressure on Treasury markets.

The recent increase in Treasury buybacks is seen as an early sign that officials are willing to step in if yields move too high. This could lead to more liquidity and dollars chasing risk assets, with Bitcoin being one of the prime beneficiaries.
