Rockstar Reps Caught in GTA VI Leak Scandal Crypto Coin Promotions
A video of two individuals claiming to be representatives of Rockstar Games has surfaced, fueling speculation that it may have been staged to promote a cryptocurrency scam amidst the ongoing leak scandal surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI.
The clip appears to show the representatives knocking on the door of X user '@LewisBi94895348,' who had previously made predictions about major GTA VI leaks. One of the alleged Rockstar reps is heard saying, 'They're not happy with it,' before asking if he knows certain individuals and their associates.
The Lewis account promoted a cryptocurrency called $CYBERLEEK across several posts before deleting them, further raising suspicions that the video may be fake. The account holder has been accused of scamming RC plane buyers on Facebook Marketplace in the past.
Take-Two has filed subpoenas over the weekend demanding Microsoft, X, and Discord provide information related to the CyberLeek accounts. The SEC filing also revealed that GTA VI will include a virtual currency system called Sharkbux, which will not be considered a security under the Howey test.
