Bitcoin to Hit $1.5 Million by 2030: Blockstream's Adam Back Predicts
Blockstream's CEO Adam Back, a renowned British cryptographer and cypherpunk, has made a bold prediction for Bitcoin's future. Speaking in a recent podcast, he believes that BTC will reach $1.5 million per coin within the next four-year cycle. This prediction comes as Bitcoin continues its upward trend, with the asset currently trading at $87,290.
The key drivers behind Back's prediction include rising institutional capital flows into the digital asset industry. He notes that US spot Bitcoin ETFs have generated billions in net inflows, giving institutional investors easy access to BTC through brokerage accounts. Additionally, expanding regulatory clarity, the Bitcoin halving and its fixed-supply effect, and increasing institutional participation will also contribute to the asset's growth.
Back points out that Bitcoin has consistently followed a 4-year cycle pattern, with new peaks in the fourth quarter of 2013, 2017, 2021, and potentially 2025. He believes that the next halving event in 2028 will also contribute to the asset's rise.
