Bitcoin Tops $86,000 as Dogecoin and Hood Inu Surge
Bitcoin surged past $86,000, marking a 1.5% increase to $86,288.88 with a trading volume of $23.43 billion. This rise lifted its market capitalization to $1.73 trillion, solidifying its position as the largest cryptocurrency by market value. Ethereum also saw a modest gain of 1.0%, reaching $2,727.24 and a market cap of $333.02 billion.
Among the major cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin stood out with a 3.5% gain, outperforming Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, BNB, and Solana. Other notable performers included Hyperliquid, which rose 2.0% to $91.83, and Zcash, which gained 0.2% to $1,329.93. However, TRON was among the few decliners, slipping 0.1% to $0.3351.
The real standout was Hood Inu, which recorded the largest percentage increase among smaller tokens, surging 648.9% to $0.02117. BabyCashCat and Agent Cat also saw significant gains, rising 277.4% and 97.1% respectively. Gitcoin gained 70.3%, while Fren Pet climbed 69.4% but with much lower trading volume.
Other smaller tokens like KAIO, Boner Coin, Nillion, and DIMO also posted double-digit gains. The broader market showed relatively moderate gains among major cryptocurrencies, while smaller tokens produced substantially larger percentage moves.
