Bitcoin Tops CoinGecko Trending List at $80,798 with Quiet Price Action
Bitcoin (BTC) has taken the top spot on CoinGecko's trending coins board, trading at $80,798 as of May 10, 2026. This comes despite a relatively quiet day in terms of price action, with a 0.5% daily gain.
The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization held its position as the global leader, with a market cap of approximately $1.618 trillion and dominance at around 58.3%. The trending rank on CoinGecko measures retail attention rather than buying pressure, which is an important distinction during periods of low volatility like this.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US have seen significant inflows over the past few weeks, with $3.4 billion flowing in over six consecutive weeks. This marks the longest streak since July 2025 and brings the total cumulative flows to above $58 billion since the launch of these products in January 2024.
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat, has predicted that Bitcoin could reach between $150,000 and $200,000 by late 2026. He attributed this forecast to three factors: institutional ETF demand providing a structural floor, tight post-halving supply, and eased geopolitical pressure due to the recent Middle East de-escalation.
