Bitcoin Trapped in Trading Range as Market Awaits Key Data Releases
Singapore-based crypto analytics firm QCP Capital has shared its assessment of Bitcoin's recent price movement, noting that despite some downturn, the cryptocurrency has maintained its trading range between $60,000 and $65,000. According to QCP analysts, weak economic data from the US has reduced pressure on the Federal Reserve (Fed) to raise interest rates, but high oil prices are increasing inflationary pressure.
The market direction remains uncertain due to these conflicting factors, and Bitcoin's recent price movement has not generated significant directional momentum. In fact, $BTC fell by approximately 3% last week and traded around $63,000, failing to maintain its rise from around $64,000. QCP notes that the $62,500-$63,000 region forms the lower limit of Bitcoin's recent trading range.
Additionally, analysts point out that despite numerous pressures including geopolitical risks, high oil prices, global liquidity uncertainty, and limited risk appetite in the crypto market, Bitcoin has yet to break out of this range. ETH is also trading around $1,900, indicating low volatility and low bullish sentiment in the broader crypto market.
The focus for markets is now on key US data releases, including the Fed's July FOMC minutes on August 19, PCE data on August 26, the Jackson Hole Symposium from August 27-29, and the September 15-16 FED meeting. According to QCP Capital, the environment for Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market remains balanced rather than dynamic.
