Bitcoin vs Gold: JPMorgan Sees Potential for Crypto to Outshine Precious Metal
JPMorgan Chase has sparked fresh debate about Bitcoin's potential to outperform gold in the market. According to a report by JPMorgan analysts, led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, Bitcoin could beat gold if ETF hedging eases.
The analysts pointed out that gold ETFs have fully recovered all their 2026 outflows, while Bitcoin ETFs have only recovered about half of theirs. This difference in recovery rates suggests that investors are still skeptical about Bitcoin's potential as a store of value.
However, Bloomberg's Eric Balchunas predicts that Bitcoin ETFs will eventually triple gold ETFs in total assets. He believes this will happen due to generational wealth transfer and growing institutional comfort with Bitcoin as its volatility falls.
