Bitcoin Whale Ditches Massive Short Position Amid Price Rally
A recent move by a Bitcoin whale has highlighted the risks of leveraged trading in the crypto market. The gambler, identified as 0xff84, trimmed a substantial short position in BTC to avoid liquidation after the price rallied.
The trader held a $114.4 million short position, but due to the surge in BTC's value, the position was on the verge of being liquidated. In response, the whale reduced their short exposure by 1,793 BTC to $98.97 million, with the new liquidation price set at $64,225.35.
The recent price action has seen BTC trading at $64,079.36, just below the EMA50 resistance of $64,322.95. The MACD death cross remains bearish on the 4-hour chart, despite a neutral RSI reading within the Bollinger bands.
