Bitcoin Whale Takes $20M Hit as Long-Term Holders Remain Steady Amid Market Weakness

A Bitcoin whale has sold 625 BTC at a loss of over $20 million after holding onto the asset for over a year. The whale deposited the tokens into FalconX, worth around $39.96 million, and bought them when Bitcoin was trading around $96k. Since then, BTC has decreased by approximately 33%, impacting the whale's investment significantly.

Interestingly, this whale's behavior diverges from the broader market sentiment among long-term holders (LTHs), who have reduced their spending. The RHODL Ratio has dropped to levels last seen in October 2023, suggesting limited selling pressure from LTHs. Furthermore, the Sell Side Risk Ratio remains extremely low at 0.000357, indicating that market pressure from LTH is very low.

Bitcoin long-term holders are currently heavily exiting the market due to losses, with over $217 billion in unrealized losses. The market remains weak, and Bitcoin has held below the RSI Momentum Trend since it failed to hold above $66k. The Directional Logistic Oscillator suggests a high probability of downside continuation.
