Bitcoin Whale Unloads 1,400 BTC After Four-Year Hold
A Bitcoin whale has begun unloading a substantial portion of its four-year-old stash. According to blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain, the wallet sold 1,400 BTC for approximately $111.61 million, netting a profit of roughly $76.5 million.
The original purchase was made four years ago when the whale acquired 2,200 BTC for $99.05 million at an average price of $45,024 per coin. The wallet held onto this position throughout the subsequent bear market.
At one point, the wallet's unrealized gains reached $178 million before the holder started reducing its position after years without sales. This latest disposal accounts for about 64% of the original 2,200 BTC received.
