BitcoinIRA and iTrustCapital Accused of Concealing Crypto Data Breaches
On-chain investigator ZachXBT claimed that crypto retirement services BitcoinIRA and iTrustCapital suffered data breaches this year without disclosing the incidents to their customers.
ZachXBT alleged that threat actors accessed personal details from the two platforms, including customers' portfolio holdings, banking details, custodian details, and verification status.
The investigator emailed both platforms on August 21 after verifying the breaches had occurred. After three days of no response, he published the alert publicly today.
iTrustCapital responded to the allegations via X, stating that they 'have not experienced and are not aware of any recent third-party vendor data breaches affecting our platform.'
