Bitcoin's $80K Breakout Test Looms as Resistance Zone Comes into Focus
Bitcoin's (BTC) price has been hovering around $80,000, a level that could be crucial in determining the direction of the market. According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, this threshold is significant because it marks the point where the average invested capital reaches neutrality.
A daily close above $80,000 followed by a weekly close above the same level would represent a strong signal and return a large portion of BTC's invested capital to profit. However, resistance near $84,569 remains a major hurdle due to a concentration of supply in this zone.
Meanwhile, analyst Ali Martinez suggests that Bitcoin could be heading towards another buying opportunity if its current market structure follows the pattern seen during the 2022-2023 bottom. The asset broke above a descending resistance trendline on Thursday, bringing the May 2026 high near $83,000 into focus.
A pullback to support levels around $76,996 to $78,258 could present another opportunity before Bitcoin pushes towards $100,000. However, if selling pressure increases, it may shift attention to the next major demand area around $63,111.
