Bitcoin's $82k Support Level Under Fire as Rally Hits Speed Bump
Bitcoin's recent price rally has stalled, and analysts are watching one key level to determine whether the next move is up or down.
The world's largest cryptocurrency hit a high above $87,400 on September 21, but has since pulled back to the $82,000 to $83,000 zone. This area is significant because it was where Bitcoin topped out in May before plummeting to around $57,000 in June.
Most market watchers expect another leg higher soon, with some predicting a rally to $100,000. However, some analysts are keeping an eye on the bearish case, which starts with a drop below $82,000.
This level is considered support, meaning it's where buying pressure is expected to overpower selling pressure. Old ceilings often turn into new floors, and Bitcoin struggled to break above $82,000 in May and early September before finally doing so.
