Bitcoin's $84K Rebound Brings Painful Losses for Some Investors
Bitcoin's recent rebound to around $84,000 has come at a cost for some investors. As they sold their holdings during the recovery, nearly $500 million in realized losses were recorded across two groups of holders.
The first group, which had held Bitcoin for more than nine months, saw about $246 million in losses. The second group, with coins that had been held for over a year, experienced around $233 million in losses.
This is not the first time the more-than-nine-month holder group has faced significant realized losses, having previously exceeded $300 million on two occasions. According to Darkfost, the process of higher-price buyers accepting losses and coins moving to investors with stronger conviction remains underway.
