Bitcoin's Breakout to $90K May Be Closer Than Expected
Bitcoin's price has been steadily rising, and analysts believe it could break through $90K sooner than expected. The cryptocurrency is currently trading around $85,969 after reaching an intraday high of $86,794, driven by easing US Treasury yields and over $200 million in short liquidations.
The immediate test lies within the resistance zone of $87,000 to $88,000, with $90,000 emerging as a psychological target if this barrier breaks. Positioning remains cautious, which could lead to a clean breakout that forces traders to chase the move and adds fuel to the fire as resistance thins.
Nicolai Sondergaard, senior research analyst at Nansen, identifies $87,000 as the next key level after $85,000, with $90,000 becoming the target if that barrier breaks. Bitfinex's framework is more specific, pinpointing Bitcoin's $87,722 yearly open as the major upside test.
A sustained break above this level, accompanied by stronger ETF inflows, would open a path towards its mean-MVRV level near $96,700. However, analysts caution that none of these levels guarantee a rally and emphasize that price has turned bullish faster than positioning has.
