Bitcoin's Calm Before the Storm: Analysts Predict Sharp Price Movement
Bitcoin's price action has been eerily calm lately, barely reacting to turbulent geopolitical events and macroeconomic data. However, history suggests that periods of low volatility often precede sharp price movements.
The past week was a perfect example of this phenomenon. The price of Bitcoin hovered around $65,300 on Sunday afternoon before moving sideways into the new week. A bearish divergence in the Relative Strength Index (RSI) signaled a possible decline, which materialized after 2 PM when MicroStrategy announced its activities for the past week.
The markets initially evaluated this announcement negatively, causing the price to drop to around $63,900. However, the RSI quickly returned to oversold territory, hinting at a potential reversal. Instead of a rally, another sideways movement ensued.
Throughout the week, Bitcoin's price continued to move sideways, occasionally dipping or spiking in response to various events such as Iran and the US demanding compensation for the conflict, an attack on a Panama-flagged ship, and the release of producer inflation data. However, these developments failed to significantly impact the price.
Looking at the charts, analysts see two possible scenarios: either Bitcoin will return to $64,450, or it will continue to move sideways within a narrow range. The daily chart suggests that growth is possible, with resistances at $63,950 and $64,450 levels.
