Shibarium Scammers Prey on Users with Fake Token Migration Narratives
Shiba Inu holders have been warned about a new wave of scams targeting users of Shibarium, a layer-2 scaling solution for ShibaSwap. Longtime community member and Shiba Eternity game advisor Mazrael alerted users to fake token migration narratives being promoted through Telegram channels.
Mazrael claimed that scammers, including an account called 'someonesmart', have been posting fake migration information on Shibarium and Bone ShibaSwap Telegram groups.
The scammers are allegedly asking users to swap their BONE holdings for a new token, claiming it is necessary for the migration. Mazrael emphasized that no such migration is taking place and that users should use legitimate tokens in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, including SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT.
Additionally, a LEASH v2 migration is anticipated due to a hidden flaw in the original LEASH code. The flaw undermined its fixed-supply design, allowing for the creation of new tokens under certain conditions. Developers have since addressed this issue by burning the keys and minting the full supply of v2 tokens into a multisignature wallet.
