Bitcoin's Dominance Dropped Below 60% for Fourth Time in History
For the fourth time in history, Bitcoin's dominance in the crypto market dropped below 60% during the week ending September 26, 2026. This happened despite a 3.3% price increase for Bitcoin.
The seven large altcoins that outperformed Bitcoin included Litecoin, which rose 23.7%, and Dogecoin, Chainlink, Stellar, XRP, Solana, Cardano, and their prices jumped by 12.7%, 12.0%, 11.9%, 11.2%, 10.4%, 9.3% respectively.
This marks the fourth time Bitcoin's dominance has fallen below 60%. However, this time it differs from the previous three instances because of the influx of $2.4 billion into Bitcoin funds during the same week its share decreased.
