Bitcoin's Fate Tied to Critical U.S. Economic Data This Week
Bitcoin's path forward is about to be influenced by a packed U.S. economic calendar, which includes key data releases that could either ease or exacerbate pressure on the cryptocurrency.
The week begins with the August JOLTS job openings report, due September 29, followed by the August Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index and third estimate of second-quarter GDP in the same session on September 30.
The biggest release arrives on October 2 with the September nonfarm payrolls report, where economists expect growth to slow sharply to 83,000, down from 162,000 in August. A sharper increase would reinforce the case for rate cuts and potentially support crypto alongside other risk-sensitive assets.
The 10-year Treasury yield above 5.2% represents a restrictive rate environment for risk assets since 2007, and Bitcoin has historically rallied when yields decline on weaker economic data.
