Bitcoin's Golden Cross Imminent: Can It Break Through $82,000?
Bitcoin's price action is getting close to a significant technical signal known as the golden cross. This occurs when the shorter-term moving averages (50-day and 100-day) cross above the longer-term moving average (200-day). The current price of Bitcoin is around $79,250, which has recovered from the June low of about $58,000.
The medium-term moving averages are converging rapidly due to the August breakout. This means that the shorter-term averages are rising more quickly than the longer-term averages. Currently, the 100-day average is at $70,560 and the 50-day average is at $70,210, which puts them close to each other.
The golden cross is not a guarantee of a new rally, but it does indicate that Bitcoin's medium-term momentum has changed. However, price validation is crucial, particularly in the vicinity of the $80,000-$82,000 resistance zone. If Bitcoin fails to break above this level, the signal may be less significant.
The RSI (Relative Strength Index) has decreased from overbought levels to around 62, suggesting that bullish momentum is still present but no longer increasing. For the golden cross to be practically useful, Bitcoin needs to turn the current consolidation into a new high and break above the $82,000 level.
