Bitcoin's Liquidity-Driven Surge Tests $80K Resistance

Bitcoin's recent price surge towards $80K may indicate a shift in market momentum, driven by improving liquidity conditions and renewed exchange-traded fund demand.

According to analysts at research and brokerage firm Bernstein, Bitcoin's rebound over the past two days could be linked to the U.S. Treasury's intervention in longer-dated government bonds.

The Treasury has announced plans to increase its liquidity-support buybacks for longer-dated Treasuries by doubling the size of each operation to $4 billion by September 9th.

Historically, Bitcoin has reacted positively to liquidity expansion, with analysts noting that tighter financial conditions following the Iran conflict and an AI and semiconductor trade had pulled away substantial investor capital from the crypto market this year.

The resurgence in price comes alongside a turnaround in spot bitcoin ETF flows, which peaked at around $7 billion in outflows across May and June but have since attracted $1.6 billion in net inflows, pushing combined assets above $85 billion from around $70 billion in June.
