Bitcoin's Mixed Signals: Profitability and MVRV Up, Apparent Demand Lags
CryptoQuant's analysis suggests that Bitcoin is flashing a split signal, but profitability and MVRV momentum improving simultaneously could be a pre-condition for bullish confirmation. Two of three signals are aligning: profitability conditions and MVRV momentum are improving, while Apparent Demand remains the critical weak spot.
The divergence between on-chain metrics matters more than any single price level, according to CryptoQuant. Profitability measures what percentage of circulating Bitcoin supply is held at an unrealized gain relative to its realized (cost-basis) price, which improves as prices rise. MVRV momentum is derived from the Market Value to Realized Value ratio, comparing Bitcoin's current market capitalization against its aggregate cost basis.
Apparent Demand measures the net flow of Bitcoin into the market from new supply versus coins being absorbed by long-term holders and exchange outflows. It requires active market participation to improve, unlike profitability and MVRV momentum, which can advance on low volume if selling pressure is absent.
A bullish resolution requires Apparent Demand turning from flat or negative to clearly positive, alongside already-improving MVRV momentum and profitability. A bearish scenario occurs if Apparent Demand fails to inflect while MVRV momentum plateaus or reverses.
