Bitcoin's Price Confinement: $84K-$85K Range Amid Macro Pressures
Bitcoin's price has been stuck in a narrow range between $84,000 and $85,000, despite its volatility spike earlier in the week. The cryptocurrency's price had breached $87,000 for the second time but gradually gave back most of its gains on Monday.
Before the recent drop, Bitcoin's daily price chart showed that it was largely confined to an $84,000-to-$84,750 range with occasional dips below or moves above those levels. However, a sudden shift in trend occurred around 3 a.m. EST when the price dipped to just above $83,800.
A relief rally then pushed its price to an intraday high of $85,238 just over four hours later. Sentiment flipped immediately as Bitcoin fell to $83,229 at approximately 10:05 a.m. EST. A subsequent relief rally carried the cryptocurrency to just under $84,000 before it gave up ground.
According to Coinglass data, total long liquidations exceeded $145 million, compared with $134 million in short positions. Macro forces and geopolitical friction are actively shaping Bitcoin's price action, with some analysts characterizing its move as a temporary consolidation preceding another rally.
