Bitcoin's Price-Sentiment Divergence Suggests September Breakout
Bitcoin's price action has created a divergence between its value and sentiment, which could be a sign of a potential breakout in September. Despite Bitcoin reaching nearly $79k last week after a 25% increase, its Fear & Greed Index dropped by over 9%, moving away from the 'Greed' territory.
This pullback in the index could signal cooling sentiment, but it appears to have had little effect on demand. In fact, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have bought a significant portion of Bitcoin in recent days, and on-chain spot bids around $80k are still holding strong.
The divergence between price and sentiment has caught analysts' attention, raising speculation about potential manipulation tactics. One possibility is that bigger players may be deliberately cooling sentiment to shake out weak hands before a potential move back above $82k.
