Bitcoin's Price Surge Meets Resistance at $81,700

Bitcoin's recent price surge of 4.46% in 24 hours has met its first significant test as it approaches a 'wall of resistance' between $81,700 and $84,284.

The rally cleared short-term moving averages, but the momentum has flattened, and open interest has dropped by 5.27% over the last 24 hours.

Top traders are leaning towards the upside, with a 51.8% long position against 48.2% short, while retail investors are net short at 51.7%.

The stochastic oscillator is in overbought territory, and the relative strength index (RSI) is sitting in a zone that has historically preceded either a breakout continuation or a sharp mean-reversion.

A close below $80,134 would send BTC directly toward the $78,528 immediate support, while a sustained push above $83,000 has roughly 30% probability and requires a clear catalyst.
