Bitcoin's Q4 Hinges on Fed, Bond Yields, and $87,500 Price Threshold
Bitcoin's Q4 performance is set to be influenced by several key factors, including the Federal Reserve, bond yields, and a crucial price level of $87,500. The cryptocurrency has already shown significant strength in Q3, rebounding from its lowest point in over a year and a half to close the quarter with a massive 43% surge.
Iliya Kalchev, Nexo Dispatch Analyst, notes that the most important catalyst for this rally came from the bond market after the US Treasury increased the size of its long-end bond buyback operations in August. This led to a significant jump in Bitcoin's price and turned spot ETF flows positive on a year-to-date basis.
However, analysts caution against expecting another straight-line rally in Q4. Kalchev warns that 'the market structure is significantly different today' due to institutional participation and regulated investment products influencing market dynamics. Alex Kozenko, CMO at WhiteBIT, also agrees that the next three months will be focused on liquidity, institutional activity, and macroeconomic environment.
The Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes are a major variable for Q4, with Lacie Zhang, Research Analyst at Bitget Wallet, predicting another 25 basis point hike on October 28. Geopolitical developments could also impact the market, particularly if energy prices continue to drive inflation.
