Bitcoin's Quantum-Safe Plan Sees Cost Drop 79%

A recent optimization challenge has significantly reduced the estimated computing cost of preparing a quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction. StarkWare reports that the estimated cost is now around $66-$67, down from roughly $320 in August.

This improvement comes after a week-long optimization effort by participants in the Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Optimization Challenge. The challenge targeted the GPU-heavy steps needed to build a transaction using the Quantum-Safe Bitcoin (QSB) design.

StarkWare cautions that the latest figures are based on benchmark results rather than actual on-chain deployments, but the direction suggests that QSB could become more practical for emergency use.
