Bitcoin's Rally Ahead: XRP Holders Still Recovering from Historic Low
The crypto market has been undergoing significant fluctuations in recent times, with two notable assets being XRP and Bitcoin. According to Santiment's MVRV (Market Value to Realized Value) metric, which gauges a coin's current price against the average price paid by holders over the past year, XRP holders have endured a painful stretch. As of September 24, 2026, the average XRP holder is down about 12%, while Bitcoin holders are slightly in profit.
XRP has dropped significantly this year, with its price plummeting to around $1.14 in July before recovering roughly 32% to $1.51. The MVRV metric only accounts for coins that are actively moved and does not capture buying activity on exchanges. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is poised for its next move primarily through institutional buying rather than holder losses.
The recent investment of about $1.7 billion in U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs suggests strong investor interest and ongoing support. XRP still has significant room to grow, trading 36% below its January 6, 2026 peak of $2.36. If XRP closes above $1.60, especially with increasing fund buying, it could surge.
