Bitcoin's Realized Cap Turns Positive After 87-Day Decline
Bitcoin's realized capitalization has finally stopped bleeding after an 87-day decline. On August 24, the 30-day change in realized cap turned positive for the first time in 2026.
The total realized cap reached approximately $1.068 trillion by September 6, with a 30-day change of +0.88%. This translates to roughly $9.36 billion in new capital flowing into Bitcoin over that period.
Realized capitalization is different from market capitalization, which simply multiplies the current price by total supply. It values each Bitcoin at the price it last moved on-chain, effectively measuring the aggregate cost basis of every coin in circulation.
When realized cap rises, it means coins are changing hands at prices higher than where they previously moved, indicating new money entering the ecosystem. On-chain analysts at CryptoQuant and Glassnode have flagged this reversal as a potentially meaningful signal.
The key obstacle above current prices is a resistance band between $83,000 and $86,000. A clean break above $86,000 with rising realized cap would be a strong confirmation signal that the trend has genuinely reversed.
