Bitcoin's Rebound Ignites Interest in Coinbase and Strategy
The cryptocurrency market has seen significant fluctuations in recent years, but Bitcoin's current rebound is offering investors new opportunities.
After hitting an all-time high of $69,000 in October 2025, Bitcoin fell to a year-to-date low of $59,101.49 on July 1, before gaining over 41% and dropping less than 5% for the year so far.
The current crypto winter was partly caused by Bitcoin's success, which led to a market rotation away from high-growth assets. However, as the cycle appears to be easing, and institutional demand is rebounding, investors can consider two stocks that offer indirect exposure to the rebound: Coinbase Global (COIN) and Strategy (MSTR).
Coinbase Global, the largest U.S.-based centralized exchange, has a nearly $51 billion market cap. The company's offerings include crypto custody, institutional prime brokerage and custody, staking services, and self-custody wallet tools that enable developers to build applications using blockchain networks.
Since its YTD low on February 12, the stock has gained around 36%. However, its fundamentals have improved as Bitcoin bounces back. In Q2, revenue growth was negative 18.51%, an improvement over Q1's negative 30.54%. Additionally, Q2 free cash flow growth was nearly 65% quarter-over-quarter.
Strategy (MSTR) is the world's first and largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company. The company has aggressively accumulated Bitcoin over the past five years, accumulating a significant amount of volatility in its performance. Since its YTD low on June 26, shares have rallied nearly 91%. However, Strategy is down more than 56% from its one-year high on October 6, 2025.
