Bitcoin's Strong August Rally Faces Historic Headwinds in September

Bitcoin's price has had a strong August, closing out the month at over 25% higher than its starting point. This is the best performing August since 2017.

The Treasury Secretary's decision to double the size of long-end bond buybacks on August 19 contributed significantly to this rally, along with regulatory tailwind from the SEC's framework for crypto investment contracts.

However, the recent price action has stalled under a resistance wall that has held since late August. The daily chart shows Bitcoin trading around $77,500, down about 1.3% on the day after closing out one of its strongest months of the cycle.

The historical data suggests September is typically Bitcoin's weakest month, and with Fed Chair Kevin Warsh warning of potential rate hikes at the next meeting, the bulls may face significant headwinds.
