Bitcoin's Surge Triggers $500M in Losses, Weak Hands Transfer to Strong Hands
Bitcoin's recent surge towards $84,000 has led to some investors cutting their losses and exiting positions. According to on-chain analyst Darkfost, those holding coins for nine to 18 months with purchase prices ranging from $63,000 to $125,000 have opted to exit.
Data indicates that the cohort holding coins for more than nine months realized losses of $246 million, while those holding for over a year realized losses of $233 million. This brings the combined total close to $500 million in losses.
Darkfost noted that the transfer of holdings from weak hands to strong hands is more pronounced than in previous bear markets. He emphasized that this process remains ongoing, with Bitcoin currently at a critical turning point.
