Bitcoin's Third-Quarter Surge Sparks Bull Run Predictions
Bitcoin's value has surged by 44% in the third quarter, its best performance since the final three months of 2024. The cryptocurrency has outperformed stocks and other assets, including gold, which is up 8.7%, and the S&P 500, which has added just 2%. Even tech-heavy Nasdaq has gained only 2%.
The rally in bitcoin's price has been driven by a combination of factors, including oversold conditions that attracted bargain hunters, a short squeeze, and a regulatory tailwind. The U.S. SEC's decision to grant a temporary exemption for tokenized U.S. stocks using automated market makers and blockchain liquidity pools has been seen as particularly supportive.
Some analysts are now predicting a full-blown crypto market bull run, but remain cautious, warning of potential pullbacks. Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, noted that while the optimism surrounding altcoins is boosting the bulls' chances in bitcoin, it's essential to exercise heightened caution until clearer signals emerge.
