Bitcoin's Trend Alignment on the Verge of Major Bullish Signal
Bitcoin's price trend is on the cusp of a major bullish signal, one that hasn't been seen in over a year. The cryptocurrency's 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day simple moving averages are poised to align in a bullish configuration, where the short-, medium-, and long-term trends all point higher. This alignment is represented by the 50-day average sitting above the 100-day, and the 100-day sitting above the 200-day. As of now, the 50-day average is well above the other two, while the 100-day is rising and on the verge of topping the 200-day.
This alignment would be the first since June 24, 2025, and has been a key indicator of major rallies in the past. Traders use moving averages to read the direction of a trend, and when short-term averages sit above long-term ones, it signals upward momentum. The impending signal suggests that Bitcoin's recent price recovery is real, with the token's price surging by over 40% to $87,000 during the third quarter.
Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus exchange, noted that the signal confirms the recovery has endured, and that the real test now is whether Bitcoin's spot price can continue to stay above its 50-day average. The more consequential test, according to Subburaj, is whether Bitcoin can hold the 50-day average during a correction.
