Bitcoin's Unrealized Profits Weigh on Short-Term Holders

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost has been tracking Bitcoin's recent price action and found that short-term holders (STH) are sitting on unrealized profits of nearly 15%. During the recent surge to $80,000, STHs' estimated holding cost is around $70,100. This profit level is the highest since July 2025.

The significant profit growth accompanying this price range may be contributing to an unstable mindset among short-term holders. As a result, some investors may choose to take profits, which could explain Bitcoin's temporary stagnation at $80,000.
