Bitcoin's Uptober Rally May Be More Than Just Seasonal
Bitcoin has been trading in a tight range between $83k and $85k since September 23rd, following a strong push from $76k to $87k last week. This volatility compression typically indicates another significant move is building up.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez pointed out that October has historically been a bullish month for Bitcoin, with 10 out of the past 13 years seeing gains. September, usually a bearish month, ended on a high note, potentially powering an even stronger October or 'Uptober' effect as Bitcoin transitions to a bull regime.
Strong demand and bullish sentiment are also indicated by nearly $3 billion in spot ETF inflows within ten days and Bitcoin flowing out of exchanges. The Adjusted MVRV 30DMA/365DMA ratio crossed above its own 365-day moving average on August 20th, marking an early bull market transition.
However, analyst Julio Moreno noted that unrealized profit margins reached 33%, the highest since December 2024, and profit-taking selling spiked to 25.7k BTC, typical of a rally losing steam and at risk of correction.
