Bitdeer Dumps 1,506 Bitcoin for $105M Amid Zero-Treasury Policy
Bitdeer Technologies has sold off a significant portion of its Bitcoin reserves in August, with the company disposing of 1,506 BTC for approximately $105 million. This represents a substantial increase from July, when Bitdeer liquidated 1,083 BTC. The sale has left the firm's balance sheet with just 61 BTC remaining.
Bitdeer adopted a 'zero-treasury policy' in February 2026, which involves selling freshly mined Bitcoin on a weekly basis to convert digital assets into cash rapidly. In August alone, the company sold 273.5 BTC, consistent with its monthly rhythm of offloading new production. The gap between mined and sold Bitcoin suggests that Bitdeer tapped into existing reserves to supplement sales.
The Norway contract is another significant development for Bitdeer, as it has secured a 16-year lease agreement valued at $4.7 billion, potentially scaling up to $8 billion depending on expansion milestones. This deal could be the most impactful data point in the August report, dwarfing any mining-related activity.
