Bitdeer Lands $4.7 Billion AI Lease, Targets Norway Campus Expansion
Bitdeer, a Bitcoin miner, has secured a massive $4.7 billion AI lease from Volta for its Norway campus.
The 16-year agreement marks a significant expansion beyond Bitcoin mining for Bitdeer and provides a potential multibillion-dollar revenue stream in AI infrastructure.
The deal requires Bitdeer to invest approximately $500 million in building the facility, with the first half scheduled to be operational by December 31, 2026. The remaining capacity is targeted for March 31, 2027.
Under the agreement, Volta will install Nvidia chips and Dell Technologies will provide computing systems. Bitdeer expects average annual revenue of $2.4 million per megawatt delivered, translating to approximately $290 million a year across the full project.
